Item Description
Charming pair of 19th century lustreware vases. The silver lustre glaze having worn over the years to form an interesting and appealing glass like finish, with an intriguing variety of colouring, particularly highlighted when the light bounces off them. I very much like the plain decoration on this pair of campana shaped vases with decorative handles.
The condition is very good, with no cracks or nicks to the whole. If you add an inner container you could fill them with real flowers, decorate with fairy lights at festive times and watch them glow under the lights. They are approx 14cm tall by 19cm from handle to handle.
Lustreware is a type of pottery or porcelain with a shimmering metallic glaze that was very popular from the 17th to the late 19th century, though it actually dates back to Medieval times.
