Pair Of Olive Green Orrefors Lamps

Pair of 1960s RD 1566 Orrefors table lamps by Carl Fagerlund for Swedish glass maker Orrefors.

In olive green tinted glass, they stand on oval shaped bases with a triangle shape body. They have been re-wired for UK use. Shown with large 45cm diameter silk shades for reference. Inscribed to the base. The price shown is or the pair.

The height to the top of the silver rim is 30cm and the to the very top of the bulb holder is 39cm.

Bio:

Carl Gustaf Vilhelm Fagerlund 1b915-2011. He graduated from the Högre konstindustriella Skola, Stockholm as a drawing teacher in 1943.He then worked as a drawing master at Solbacka läroverk 1943-1944.

In 1944 he was appointed as lighting architect with ASEA in Stockholm and in 1946 he took the same post at Orrefors glass works.

Apart from his many designs for the home, he also undertook many public commissions, including Prins Eugen's Waldemarsudde, Frederiksbergs Town Hall, Hotel D’Angleterre and the Mercur Hotel in Copenhagen, Kiruna City Hall, the Swedish Embassy in Tokyo, Möllevångens Church in Malmö, and for the General Motors head office in the USA.
