Item Description
Very smart French Art Deco ear marble top sideboard c.1930. Original and very well figured marble top with a breakfront, shaped and moulded edge. Over three slim drawers and a three door cupboard fitted inside with a single long shelf (internal depth 15½"). Beautifully figured burr elm veneers with inlaid satinwood crossbanding and ebony stringing. Floral marquetry inlay detail to the centre door flanked with matching columns with brass mounts top and bottom. Original laurel wreath brass handles to the drawers and decorative escutcheons to the doors. Further brass mounts to the shoulders. Mahogany quarter veneered sides. Shallow plinth raised on slim square pads. Minor wear to the marble, otherwise very good colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Original keys supplied.
