Item Description
Late Georgian Welsh oak kitchen cupboard of a type known as a ‘Cwpwrdd Bara Caws’ or bread and cheese cupboard c.1820. Two door cupboard top with the vented door panels typical of the form. Fitted inside with a full depth shelf (internal depth 15½") plus a half depth shelf above. Over the base featuring two short drawers and two long drawers of graduated height instead of the more common cupboard doors. Moulded cornice above an unusual saw tooth frieze across the front. Attractive diamond pierced vents with flat panels above and below within moulded surrounds. Later Georgian pattern brass handles. Moulded trim along the bottom edge at the front and shaped bracket feet. Deal panelled sides and rear. Note the pegged construction. Excellent colour and condition. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
