This beautiful example is spaciously drawn in relation to its format with charming variety of vegetable dyed colour combination.

The Master weaver, Mohtashem, is one of the most revered weavers from Kashan. His rugs are believed to be some of the highest category, 19th century Persian weavings and are often considered the crème de la crème of Kashan weaving. The city of Kashan, located in central Persia, is known as one of the greatest classical Persian weaving centres. Over a short period during the Late 19th/ Early 20th century, Mohtashem created some of his finest, most elegant pieces.
