Item Description
Circa 1790, an unusual pair of George III inlaid mahogany dining room pedestals. The tops with ivory escutcheons (the ivory is registered) open to reveal an open section which could have been used for holding bottles or tureens. There is a circular inlay on the top, crossbanded with satinwood and ebony, and this occurs on the front and on the cupboard below in a larger oval shaped version. There is a crossbanded inlay in the form of faux fluting. The bottom cupboard opens to reveal adjustable shelves.
122.5cm high x 40cm square
