Circa 1900 A quality satinwood and walnut knee hole desk by Whytock & Reid of Edinburgh, the silky satinwood top with broad walnut cross-banding and a raised ledge to the backside which tapers away at the front with a half round fore-edge, the front with 1 long shaped drawer flanked by a pair of deeper drawers, with banding similar to the top, each stamped Whytock & Reid Edinburgh, on the top the drawer, with cast brass swan neck handles with elegant pierced back-plates, the freestanding curvaceous body rests on 4 elegant cabriole legs with carving on the face towards the base finishing on a curled toe resting on a hexagonal foot.
