Item Description
An 18th Century George II Solid Mahogany Chest of Drawers with Excellent Patination.
Made from solid timber this chest is of good, small size and retains an excellent set of original brass plate handles with exceptional bronze patination. The top has an overhanging edge moulding above an unusual drawer configuration with two very small drawers at top left and right alongside a wider drawer in the centre of the top row. The three larger drawers below are finely graduated and all are cockbeaded. Supported by bracket feet at the base.
The mahogany timber used in the construction of this piece is of good quality figure and density. The surface has acquired a fabulous bronze-like patina through years of use.
