Oil on board, signed and dated 1995 (upper left)
Framed in a 19th century water gilded frame, the frame with some rubbing and aged patina, it sets off the bold colours of Buchet's work very well.
Born to a French father and a mother Russian, Boris Buchet is one of the artists from Eastern Europe who settled in the Montparnasse district of Paris during the interwar period.
