This is a large antique steamer trunk. An American, leather and brass bound shipping chest, dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1910.

Fine example of decorative furniture, with a generously sized interior
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good original order
Lightly time worn leather with dark brown hues and press stud trim
Bound to the corners with brass caps for reassuring strength

Pleasingly dressed in leather to all surfaces of the generously proportioned form
Bold brass scallop latch to centre with inset lock — key absent
Further dressed with a pair of slide clips holding the lid securely
Large interior finished with a blue cotton lining, in clean order
