Item Description
This attractive rosewood davenport desk is in very good condition, circa 1830, of very good quality construction using beautiful rosewood which has been carefully waxed to revive its warm colour.
The writing desk top has a raised gallery top above a fall front writing surface which benefits from a newly fitted hand dyed green leather inset. The hinged lid lifts to reveal 2 small stationary drawers, (with one extra drawer having a secret locating pin which opens it) and a storage space. This sits above a beautiful panelled front and there are 4 functioning drawers on the right hand side and 4 dummy drawers on the left.
A well drawn piece of furniture, on solid rosewood turned legs with brass casters.
