Item Description
An antique Edwardian solid golden quartersawn oak five sectional bookcase, with copperised strapped sides and drawer below. Made by Globe Wernicke - England. Labelled. Circa 1900.
Delivery is INCLUDED in the price for all areas in MAINLAND England & Wales.
The bookcase has been sympathetically re-finished, still retaining some authentic marks to highlight its genuine heritage.
Made in solid quarter sawn oak, showing wonderful medullary rays. The top panel is veneered in quarter swan oak. Simply stack the sections on top of each other.
The original blown glass doors have an up-and-over scissor action, all in very good working order, as too is the drawer.
Each section is sturdy in structure with no loose joints, and is free from woodworm. The metalware is all original. There is a small knock to the front right edge of the bottom bookcase, on the oak upright.
