Item Description
Antique French archtop mirror, circa 1880, with etched gilt frame decorated with a criss-cross diamond design, which has a central four-petal flower, and a row of beading along the sight edge. Where this mirror has been cleaned for more than 100 years, the gilding has thinned a little revealing the warm terracotta bole beneath. The original glass is in excellent condition, perhaps helped by the interesting paper layers glued over the back boards. An attractive, compact and versatile mirror which can be placed in almost any room.
