Item Description
This lovely large pair of cushions is made from a vintage dowry bag from the Kutch region of Gujurat. The main body of the bag is a charming simple little block print on a handwoven, hand quilted cotton. This was augmented with a panel of heavy embroidery and shisha (mirror) work which was beautifully done. I've backed the cushions in a vintage handwoven textile from East China in blue with tiny red and blue dots in a floating supplementary weft. I've added handmade tassels, green on one cushion and yellow-gold on the other, that pick out the colours on the cushion. There are zip fasteners and feather pads.
