Item Description
These cushions are made from the centre panels of a vintage Maonan wedding blanket. The blanket was hand loomed on a narrow loom, only 13" wide in cotton and silk. The off white cotton ground is decorated with auspicious symbols in silk and the colours are so pretty being indigo, magenta, tangerine and celadon. I have put a border on the top and bottom edges of the cushion so that the wedding blanket front is more visible. The borders and the back of the cushions are in an antique hemp which works beautifully. I've added orangey coloured tassels and there are zip fasteners and feather pads.
