Item Description
This lovely cushion is made from patchwork by the Miao ethnic minority. The patchwork is made from old textiles in indigo handloomed cottons, decorated with applique and couched stitching. This style of patchwork originates from the Buyi minority and has been adopted by the Miao probably for trade. I've backed the cushion with a hand-loomed striped textile from the Buyi minority that was overdyed indigo. There is a zip fastener and feather pad. The cushion would make a wonderful talking point in any scheme.
