Item Description
These rich silk brocade cushions are made from a vintage baby blanket from the Zhuang minority group. The textile is handwoven on a backstrap loom in cotton and floss silk. It pre dates the 1950s. The colours are still strong, blue, pink, red and celadon (grey green?). I've backed the cushions with another minority hand loomed textile. This time a vintage cotton stripe from the Buyi minority. This is in light and dark indigo, off white and a pink stripe, which is perfect. I've added handmade blue tassels at the corners, zip fasteners and feather pads.
