Item Description
This pair of 18th-century Dutch Delftware baluster vases is decorated with pastoral scenes in blue and white of a man playing the guitar and a woman holding a basket in country landscapes. The scenes are enclosed in joyful polychrome cartouches, surrounded by an elaborate array of patterns with relief scrolls, dots, and flowers. Both vases feature oversized flowers and foliage on the sides and at the back. They are covered by gorgeous lids showcasing polychrome lions, along with scrolls and dots.
With sumptuous polychrome decors in an exquisite baluster shape, this rare pair of Delft vases is the perfect addition to a mantelpiece.
A missing part to one lid, slight wear to bases.
Marked CK underneath, attributed to Cornelis Keizer at De Metaale Pot factory (1724-1757)
