Item Description
We are proud to offer a delightful untouched example of a 19th Century reverse hand painted glass games board. Still present in its original pine case, these now highly decorative items were once ever present in pubs and gaming clubs around London in the late 19th Century. This example shows a lovey hand painted marble effect boarder and is accompanied with a complete set of bovine checkers pieces also dating from the same period.
Size in inches approx.: H 19” x W 19” x D 1”
Completely solid in structure and form, worn surface, loss in certain areas across the glass painted area as shown. The wooden frame is naturally worn also. The bovine set of checkers pieces are also well used and show light chips to some edges. A rare survivor and in over very presentable condition.
It is exceedingly difficult to photograph all the areas on this piece. Therefore, we strongly suggest reviewing all the photos provided as part of this advert and propose questions where sections / condition is unclear to avoid disappointment when purchasing.
