Item Description

Early 20th Century Folk art English Articulated Toy Dog Form

A very unusual and quirky example of an early 20th century English folk art articulated weighted jaw toy dog. Made from some kind of thin leather material (Faux) over a wooden and paper form. With thin metal wheels, glass eyes, wired tail and wooden teeth. This item would likely have been covered in some sort of fur at one point as some remanence is still present.  The mouth opens and close which is attached to a lead weight inside the head. A rare object when back in the day when toys were made with love and care.

Size in inches approx.: H 17” x W 19” x D 5”

Origin: England

Date: 1920- 1930

Material: Mixed Material

This item is aged naturally, a deep patination across all its surface as shown, an old used object that has missing detail, frayed areas, and rust to the metal sections. The leather material is missing and loss in areas, one of the glass eyes moves when the mouth is opened and closed. It’s an old decorative object so please expect age and loss in all this item please. Its firm in form and not wobbly.
