Late 19th Century Napoleonic prisoner of war dominos 31

A good example of a late 19th Century Napoleonic prisoner of war (POW) hand carved set of 31 dominos, in a sliding painted lid box. Made from mutton bone showing etched hand carved detail with original dye paint design. These pieces were made by captive prisoners of war to help pay for food  and necessities and show great skill and craftsmanship.

Size of box in inches:  H 5.5” x W 2.5” x D 1” (31 Dominos)

Condition: Aged

Completely solid in structure, faded in all areas with aged surface as shown. The top of the shell design is missing a section as shown. The bone is aged naturally.
