Early 20th century papier mache theatre mask

A very quirky and characterful early 20th Century example of a papier mache French theatre / carnival mask. Made from layers of shaped papier mache with hand painted detail.

Origin: Paris (France)

Condition: Fair

A naturally aged item that has stood the test of time, worn surface resulting is loss of papier and painted surface which has seen some aged repainting as shown in the photos provided. There are several staples attached to the rim as shown. This item is solid and firm in form and in one piece.
