Item Description

A charming Antique French Patisserie or Boulangerie Table. The Carrara Marble top with rounded corners above a wrought iron apron of scrolling vine and floral decoration. Attractive acanthus leaf detail to the centre and corners. Supported on a scrolling wrought iron frame with inset florets and brass finials. The whole standing on original castors. Beautiful tables of good size and always a bonus to have a matching pair if needed. Great as console, alcove or lamp table, bathroom vanities or a prep-table. This table is topped with its original thick marble top, which rests on the intricate and decorative frieze.
Pâtisserie tables were visible in many Parisian shop windows to present the delicacies on offer, so appearance was of utmost importance. The tables are extremely heavy even without their marble in situ being solid iron rather than tubular steel as many often are. The tables have been professionally sandblasted, primed and painted. The last image shows the tables in their original state.
