Item Description
This is a truly exquisite and extremely rare antique Italian marble sculpture that dates from the mid 19th century. Discovered recently, this stunning work of art is hand carved from white marble with a great artistic quality. The statue is a study of Laocoon from the famous classical sculpture "Laocoon and His Sons" which is on public display in the Vatican Museums. The artist's name is engraved at the bottom of the back side "H. Magnotti". It measures about 44 x 25 x 16 cm or approximately 17.3 x 9.8 x 6.2 inches and it is in great antique condition. This is a remarkable antique treasure of exceptional beauty and exactly as I discovered it in Florence. For the full condition please refer to the images
