Item Description
This is a truly glorious and one of a kind French Baroque wood carving in the form of a clam shell. Dating from the 18th century, this fabulous treasure is hand carved from wood and gilded. Through the passage of time a stunning timeworn patina has been created that in my opinion only brings forth its true beauty and splendour today. Such large architectural fragments are a magnificent addition to any stylish and unique interior as they elevate any space with their true opulence and sculptural quality like no other. The carving measures about 40 x 34 x 12 cm or approximately 15.7 x 13.3 x 4.7 inches and it can be displayed on a wall or a flat surface such as a desk or a coffee table. It is exactly as I discovered it recently in Beziers in the South of France. For the full condition please refer to the images!
