Item Description

This is an exquisite pair of extremely rare antique Italian holy water fonts that date from the 19th century. Discovered recently in Naples this outstanding pair is made of solid silver. It consists of two gorgeous floral wreaths, one bearing the initials 'AM' for Ave Maria with a little crown [denoting to Mary] , and the other'IHS' that refer to Christ. These parts have hooks that hold the fonts, which are in shapes of wonderful baskets. Besides their function as holy water fonts, these highly decorative antique treasures could also be used as small vases, tea light holders and even as an incense burner if desired. Each one measures about 28.5 x 11.5 x 7.5 cm or approximately 11.2 x 4.5 x 2.9 inches and they are in lovely antique condition with some signs of ageing which in my opinion only brings forth their true beauty and splendour today. They are exactly as I discovered them. For the full condition please refer to the images!
