Item Description
This is a truly fabulous and extremely rare pair of antique Italian jars that were discovered on my recent trip to Florence in January of 2025. They are made from terracotta with a magnificent design and great artistic quality done in majolica. These stunning glazed pottery jars or pharmaceurical urns are decorated with gorgeous male portraits on a cobalt blue background. Each jar contains a lid so that stored herbs for example could be kept for a long time. Such highly decorative jars were also used in the past to store precious teas, coffees and spices. Each urn measures about 22 x 15 x 15 cm or approximately 8.6 x 6 x 6 inches and they are in great condition and exactly as I discovered them. For the full condition please refer to the images!
