Item Description
A large and exceptional antique hanging lantern, English from the early 20th century.
Handmade and of superb quality, it has been lightly restored only, removing layers of old paint and having been re-glazed with clear glass. A light polish maintains the authenticity to the metal, creating a grey / bronze finish and cleaning has revealed the pretty copper pins.
The octagonal shape and overall design is unusual and very decorative.
This lantern would likely have graced the porch of a luxury City home or country house. Could be used inside the home as well as in an undercover porch entrance.
