Item Description
Large, antique, French, Louis-Philippe period (1830-48) archtop mirror with etched gilt frame decorated with a diamond design surrounding a central four-petal flower, beaded sight edge and undulating outer edge. Where this mirror has been dusted for almost 200 years, the gilding has thinned along the bottom edge revealing the warm, terracotta bole beneath. The original mercury glass is in lovely condition, sparkles along the bottom edge and gives an excellent reflection. This handsome mirror is unusually wide and would make a superb overmantel mirror.
