Item Description
A late 19th century English drawing room armchair. Recently purchased in a somewhat shabby state this shapely armchair has been given a complete overhaul. All horrid old disintegrating upholstery carefully removed to reveal the original wooden frame which has been cleaned and strengthened where necessary, finally wood worm treated, if only as a precautionary measure to ensure no hidden surprises! All materials replaced with new but keeping as much of the original horsehair as possible. Finally covered in a plain neutral linen fabric. The humpback back to this elegant armchair is flanked by two protruding wings which slope down to the rolled over arms and the most comfortable full seat, having been re sprung and re webbed. The seat has a gentle serpentine shape below and is raised on two low polished mahogany legs to the front with two outward swept legs to the back all terminating with solid brass castors. Fully refurbished English wing armchair.
