Item Description
A wonderful naive collection of six fighting scenes, with baker boys and chimney sweeps. The six spilt up into two tryptic's one showing a fight in a ring that's abruptly slowed down by an office of the law, the second a bar brawl. Each is housed in a maple veneer frames with gilt slip, one of the six in signed and dated bottom left E.Whitelock 1877 (this only visible when removed from frame). Each is painted in oils to a thick card board
The condition varies from one to another, some minor paint loss, some small areas of elderly retouching. Nothing you wouldn't expect for items of their age.
Each frame has areas of wear consistence to age, each frames measures approx 51 width/41 height /2cm depth one frame is ever so slightly different in style and measures in at a cm larger height & length.
